STOP! PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE PURCHASING!

This is NOT the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Spoiler Light for the Toyota Camry, Koito 1470. It is an ALTERNATIVE Spoiler Light we have tested to fit the Factory Toyota Camry Spoiler with the Koito 1470 light.  The shape and size of the lights is identical.  However, the tabs do not line up and require drilling new holes to mount our alternative light.  Please read the description thoroughly before purchasing.  Shipping and handling fees are non-refundable.

The Spoilerlight advertised here is an alternative spoilerlight we have tested to fit the Toyota/Koito 14-170 Spoiler .  Our light is very similar to the Koito 1470 light.  The biggest difference is the location of the tabs.  The tabs on our alternative light do not line up with the bolt holes of the original light.  New holes will need to be drilled to mount this light.  Another alternative would be to mount this light with 3M Super Strength Tape.

Installation Instructions

Listed below is a photo of the Original Spoiler Light Before Installation.  You will need to remove the bottom cover plate to access the spoiler light to remove it. Click the thumbnail image below to enlarge it.

Remove cover using a Philips screwdriver bit and a 1/4″ open end wrench to remove the 4 screws.

Removed existing light using the Philips screwdriver bit and 1/4″ open end wrench to remove the 3 screws.

At this point, remove the cover on the inside of the trunk lid to get to the wiring harness for the light.  Below shows the connector access in the passenger side of the trunk in case you need to check the wiring.

Cut the wires to the old light, and cut all but about 6″ of the new light wiring. Splice the red wire from the new spoiler light to the green wire in the harness.  Then splice the black wire from the new spoiler light to the white wire in the harness.

The outer tabs do not line up with the screws in the spoiler. Install two washers as shims on the center screw so that you can tighten and secure the light in place and keep it centered. The two shims are underneath the tab to keep the light level with the trunk deck. You can also use 3M Super Strength Tape to secure the light to the spoiler, and not use the 3 screws from the previous light; but then you won’t be able to use the new cover.

Install the old plate over the new light using the Philips screwdriver bit and the 1/4″ open end wrench.  If you removed the spoiler so that you could drill new screw holes for the outer tabs, then you could just use the new 3 hole plate, and not use the old plate.
