Beaver Marquis Third Brake Light Alternative | Type: SL-84013

Description

The following product listing is for an alternative LED third brake light for the Beaver Marquis RV (Pictured).  The original 3rd brake light for this RV is designed to be mounted inset.  However, the manufacturer of this 3rd brake light changed the tooling for this light so it is slightly wider and taller than the original by half an inch.  The light still fits in the slot and the bolt holes line up to mount the same as the original light. Why Did this Light Change from the Original Version?
The reason the tooling for this third brake light was changed was because these lights were commonly mounted on the back of RVs and buses where the engines were also located.  These LED lights would often burn out from heat exposure due to being in close proximity to the engine bay.  For this reason the manufacturer changed the light to include a steel backing to protect the light from heat exposure.  This change makes the entire light larger on all sides by approximately half an inch (1/2 inch).  This third brake light is no longer available without the steel backing and is only manufactured with the steel backing.

This third brake light measures approximately 18.5 inches long and 1″ wide. It is designed to be mounted from the front or face with two screws on either side of the light.  This third brake light is often found on RVs and used for commercial applications.  This third brake light is encased in a steel encasing.  This protective backing or encasing helps to protect the light from heat damage.  Due to the high temperatures associated with the engine and exhaust, this light is encased in a steel enclosure that works to protect the LED light from damage caused by heat exposure.
